About Micah Daily, ph.D.

Dr. Micah Daily is a philosophical counselor in private practice, a professor of philosophy and cultural studies, a writer, an actor, and a filmmaker. Her seemingly diverse interests commingle in her love of wisdom.

Micah was awarded a Doctorate of Philosophy in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research in 2014 and a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy in 2002. After the 9/11 attacks in NYC, she became a certified Philosophical Counselor with the American Philosophical Counselors Association (APPA) and ran a private practice while teaching philosophy. She attained a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy, creative writing, and filmmaking from Sarah Lawrence College in 1996.

Dr. Daily has been a philosophical counselor and professor of philosophy and cultural studies for seventeen years. She is an established lecturer and recipient of the most influential person and excellence in teaching awards from her students at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles where she taught for eight years.

Micah's research interests include "neighborliness" and "quarrelsomeness" in our developing global community and the power of rational discourse as a method to address issues of free speech and hyperpolarization in politics, on college campuses, online, and in everyday experience.

Micah lives in California with her dog Lily.
